In our world where information is readily accessible but often overwhelming, and where entertainment grips people's interests and habits, it is crucial to recognize the importance of education in our pursuit of a good life. Aristotle's timeless wisdom reminds us that each person possesses the ability to judge well in the areas of their knowledge, making them proficient judges in those subjects. By actively seeking education, we expand our knowledge and equip ourselves to make sound judgments in specific areas of expertise. Moreover, a well-rounded education grants us the opportunity to become good judges in general, enabling us to develop a broader understanding of the intricacies and complexities of the world we inhabit.

Allow me to share a story that beautifully illustrates the power of education. In ancient times, there lived a young man named Callias. Born into a modest family, he harbored dreams of achieving greatness but lacked the means and opportunities to pursue his ambitions. One day, he encountered a wise philosopher who recognized his thirst for knowledge and potential for greatness. The philosopher took Callias under his wing and became his mentor, guiding him in the pursuit of education and wisdom.

Callias embraced this opportunity with unwavering determination. He delved into a rigorous course of study, dedicating countless hours to learning and contemplation. The philosopher imparted not only knowledge but also instilled in Callias a love for wisdom and a deep understanding of the virtues.
